I signed up for my first quarter of classes this week and I couldn't be more ready to start! This quarter I am taking:
Introduction to Baking Science & Theory
What will I be learning?: Ingredient functions, baking and pastry techniques. I will be learning about dough mixing methods, rolling dough, cake creation, fillings, icings and pastry cream. My family and Brian are most excited about this class I think! :)
Concepts and Theories of Culinary Techniques
What will I be learning?: Cooking theories, knife skills as well as the preparation of stocks, broths, glazes, soups, vegetable cookery as well as meats and poultry. I will also be learning about sautéing, roasting, poaching, braising and frying. Sheeew and that’s just one class!
Management Supervision and Career Development
What will I be learning?: Increasing productivity, labor costs, time management and managing change. This class also focuses on job searching and networking.
