There is simply nothing better than homemade granola. It’s way cheaper than buying a bag at the store, it makes your kitchen smell homey and wonderful and you can control the ingredients you use! It’s a win win all around. In addition, you can use an absolute endless combination of ingredients so you can get exactly the nutritional and taste requirements you like. This is my basic granola recipe but feel free to add and substitute any ingredients! Enjoy this granola on yogurt, as a cereal, with fruit or by itself!
- 3 cups oats
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 cup dried cherries
- ½ cup coconut oil
Mix together all ingredients. Spread on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until golden or until desired texture is achieved.
