How To Freeze Corn

It's that time again. The time when lovely little farmers markets pack up their tents and close up shop for the fall and winter. It's a bittersweet time for me,  fall is my favorite season and I welcome the chilly weather and onslaught of pumpkin flavored everything with open arms. But I love and will miss the fresh and out of this world flavor of vegetables grown in the hot summer sun. In my attempt to preserve that golden taste, I bought a giant bag of sweet corn at the farmers market this past weekend and froze every single ear. Freezing corn is the easiest way to bring the taste of summer to your table in the dark winter months. I strongly encourage you to head out to your local farmers market this weekend and buy the biggest bag you can! Then bring it home and follow the easy steps below to save a little taste of summer in your freezer.

1.) Shuck and Clean

Remove husks and rinse ears under cool water.

2.) Boil Corn

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add corn and boil for 5-7 mins.

3.) Cool Corn

Remove corn and place in a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process.

4.) Cut Corn off Cobb

Carefully take a knife and cut the kernels off the cobb.

5.) Freeze

Place the corn in any size freezer safe bag you wish and place in freezer! TA DA!!! It's that easy!
