Morning Green Smoothie

Mornings are a magical time. It's a fresh start to a new day full of opportunities! To help me tackle my day, I always drink either a protein shake or this refreshing and delicious green smoothie. This sweet drink is full of nutrients and positive vibes to help set the day off to a good start. 

Pineapple and grapes really give this smoothie a sweet note and helps cover the "green" taste of the kale. The coconut water adds a refreshing and hydrating balance to the heavier banana flavor. I used frozen pineapple in my recipe to add some texture and chill the smoothie, but you can always add fresh pineapple if you want to! 

If you are new to drinking green smoothies, this is an excellent one for you to try! You can always add more pineapple and remove the kale if you feel the "green" taste is too strong for you. Over time you can cut down on the pineapple and add the kale back in once you have gotten used to the taste.


Morning Green Smoothie

Makes 1 serving


  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 handful kale, stems removed 
  • 1/2 cup green grapes 
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks 
  • 1 banana, peeled 
  • 1 cup coconut water 
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)


Place all items in a blender and blend until smooth. Add more coconut water if your smoothie isn't as thin as you would like it!
