Simplicity. Warm sweet figs drizzled with honey, sprinkled with crunchy pecans and served on top of Greek yogurt. Sometimes just letting fruit take center stage and shine is the best dessert you’ll ever have!
This is a simple, light dessert that can be made quickly and is the perfect finisher to a relaxed weekend meal. I have also used mascarpone cheese in place of the Greek yogurt and it is equally as delicious!
When selecting figs at the grocery store, look for fruit that is slightly soft to the touch with no surface breaks in the skin. Skin should not be green, look for a rich dark color. Figs with sap coming out of the opposite end of the stem is a great indicator of ripeness!
Store your figs in a shallow bowl on your counter and eat them soon after purchasing as they don’t store well.
Figs with Honey and Greek Yogurt
Makes 4 servings
- 8-10 figs, sliced in half
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- Sprinkle of ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place figs on a baking sheet and place in oven for 5-10 minutes until hot and shiny. Remove from oven and set aside. Divide Greek yogurt between four plates. Evenly divide warm figs among plates and drizzle with honey. Finish with nuts and sprinkle of cinnamon.
